The End of Creed

"So is this the end for us my friend?"

Please, say it isn't so! Creed called it quites today. I would have never thought that they would have disbanded at the height of the band. Three great albums and the best concert that I have ever been to so far. What more could you ask for, but it is the end. Over! But there are some new beginning after the end.

Aerosmith!!!

Well, tonight I get to see Aerosmith in concert for the first time. This is very exciting for me, since they are probably my all time favorite band. I have just about all their CD's; basicly all of them, just missing some greatest hits albums. And guitarist, it doesn't get any better than these two, both Joe and Brad are great guitarist.

I can't wait!

See you tonight, Steven, Joe, Brad, Tom, and Joey!!

Need a good firewall? Get SmoothWall Express 2.0!

Do you need a good firewall? Do you need intrusion detection? Well, do you have an old computer just lying around? Then go get you a copy of SmoothWall Express 2.0! I installed this on a computer that I built with spare parts and man does it do a good job of keeping my network safe. Not only is it a great firewall but it also comes with Snort installed, which is one of the best intrusion detection programs you can get. Just this weekend I was saved from a couple of worms, one from China and another from Kwait, penetrating my network. You're wondering how I found out where they came from. Well, Snort gives you the IP address of the attackers and SmoothWall Express 2.0 also comes with a neat little tool called WhoIs that looks up the info on the IP address that you give it. And oh, did I also mention that SmoothWall Express 2.0 is free.

Free Windows XP 70-270 Certification Course from TestOut

This is great! I just ordered a copy of TestOut's Windows XP course for free, and only had to pay a $10 shipping charge. It says it is a full working copy, not an evaluation copy or a limited version. It is suppose to be the real thing. We'll see.

Anybody need a franchise!

Here is something I ran across which is pretty interesting. A franchise for computer services called "Geeks On Call." Who would have ever thought we would have a McDonalds of the computer world.

Slash's Return

I have to start off my blog with something good or great even. To me, the chance to see Slash, former lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, playing live is great. I missed out on the GNR years because I was too young to go to concerts then, and I was greatly disappointed when GNR broke up. But now one of the greatest guitar slingers of all time has returned with his new band Velvet Revolver, with former GNR mates Duff and Matt along with the former lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots, Scott. There is also another guitarist, Dave, which I believe came from Suicidal Tendencies. It sounds like a great lineup and if you heard the single from the Hulk soundtrack you know it's going to be a wonderful musical journey of some good old Rock N' Roll.
